Forgotten Classics

I just found the most lovely Listmania at Amazon, Forgotten Classics. I am delighted to report I have not read any of these, which means I get to read them for the first time! My favourite thing! Any of you read anything from this list?

Anna Louise at Aleuromancy

Anna Genoese has put up a site offering her freelance editorial services, Aleuromancy. Apparently she’s saying goodbye to her Livejournal, and all new posts will be at Aleuromancy. Just FYI.

Twitter me, baby.

So I’ve been posting at Twitter for awhile, and I just set up my IM with it. I find it impossible to write while chatting, but I was thinking . . . It might be cool if my writer friends joined Twitter and added me; I could stay posted on what all of you are working on, your word counts and all that good stuff, without the distractions of chat. Plus it’s fun and addictive! And way less time consuming than blogging! *makes a cute face* Come on, you know you want to.

Today I am Sir Walter Scott.

Today I am a Victorian author of historical epics, who does not care about historical accuracy or anything more than the vaguest semblance of plausability. I am an author of 1940s epic screenplays, and my characters will bravely swing from chandeliers, narrowly avoid snapping crocodiles, and drink poison for kicks if they feel like it!

In otherwords, I am notecarding Trouvère, and now that I’ve got all the historical business that must be included taken care of, I can go crazy adding whatever thrilling bits I like.

Trader Vic invented the Mai-Tai. So there.

Just finished reading Tiki Style, only my second book of the year (out of a required fifty). This may not have been the best year for me to try the 50 Book Challenge but I refuse to give up hope so soon.

Speaking of not giving up, I hope to finish up those profiles tonight. Once that’s done it’s time for notecarding, and then the writing (I’ve had enough of research for now, frankly.) I think I’m due for some world-building on Searoyal to lift my spirits a bit as well.
